Chapter Seven

CHLOE

Chloe woke up alone after a full night of loving her man. Son of a bitch, she hated waking up alone and naked in an unfamiliar place. Oh yeah, Aylzrunth had brought her back to the room she’d been given on Runihura and returned to his. He told her last night he’d have to meet with the legal representatives first thing in the morning and she didn’t have to wake up for that. He wanted her to be completely rested by the time he came back.

As he whispered to her, she gave a murmured token of protest when he carried her across the hallway and placed her on the massive bed. After pulling the covers to her shoulders, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead and told her he’d be back after that. She’d fallen back asleep with a contented smile.

An insistent buzzing woke her up from a dreamless sleep. With a grunt, she rolled to the side of the bed and sat up with her feet dangling. Wiping a palm across her face, she glanced around. Luckily there was enough light to take in her surroundings. She spied BóBó lying at the foot of the bed. Ah, the source of the buzzing. She should have known her mama would be calling first thing in the morning. With a groan, she grabbed the leather thong and looped it around her neck before opening the channel.

“Yes, Mama.” She lay back with a flop. “I’m sorry I couldn’t call you back sooner, but I’ve been a bit busy.” An image of Ay’s face in the throes of climax made her womb clench. Holy crapoly.

Her Mama’s long-suffering sigh didn’t help soothe Chloe’s guilty conscience.

“I guess I understand. But you promised to talk to me about coming home. Things are different here, and there’s a good chance those alien friends of yours could have all your charges dropped.”

Chloe didn’t have the heart to tell her Mama she’d erased all info on herself from the FBI database at the same time she did it for her friend Sherry. No one on Earth was looking for her now.

“Yes, Mama. I think you’re right. But I’ve got an intense situation going on right now and I want to make sure I can bring my man home with me.”

Another sigh. “Okay, tell me about him.”

Eagerly, she filled her mother in on all the adventures she’d had with Aylzrunth since the day they met. She even hinted about her intense feelings for him. Of course, she didn’t share the physical aspect of their relationship. There were just some things you didn’t tell your mama.

“Hmm…I get it.” Her mama responded with a thick voice after Chloe finished. “Listen, you wrap things up there as fast as you can and come home. Bring that man if you have to.” Her voice turned wobbly. “I miss you terribly, baby girl. I hate the thought of you so far away.”

Chloe swallowed the pain twisting at the back of her throat. Even though her mama could be a demanding pain-in-the-ass, she missed her.
